Welcome to Safe Passage!
It is the mission of Safe Passage to reduce or prevent domestic violence and sexual assault in DeKalb County. We provide a wide range of services to victims of domestic and sexual violence including crisis intervention and medical advocacy for victims of domestic and sexual violence, short- and long-term housing for victims and their children, counseling, legal advocacy, children's services, community education, and a batterer's intervention program.
Safe Passage, Inc. will be offering a 20-hour training for those interested in working with domestic violence offenders. Participants can expect to learn the history of partner abuse intervention programs in Illinois, intervention models, best practices of group dynamics, and the role of the facilitator. Completion of this training is required for those working with domestic violence perpetrators, or for those seeking the CPAIP certification. Safe Passage is a recognized 20-hour training site by IDHS and the ICDVP Board. This training is intended for people who have already completed the 40-hour Domestic Violence Training.
The training is $125 and will be held March 10-12, 2014. Please contact Stephanie Zickert at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 815-756-5054 with any questions.
We are hiring for an Executive Director and part time Co-Facilitators for our Abuse Intervention Services Program. Please see our jobs page for more information.
