Abuse Intervention Services Co-facilitator


Heather is currently enrolled and is working towards her Master’s degree in the Specialization in Marriage & Family Therapy Program at Northern Illinois University. She graduated with her undergraduate degree from NIU in May of 2019. Heather started at Safe Passage as a volunteer in 2018, and shortly after, moved up to working as a full-time intern in Residential. At the beginning of 2020, Heather was hired as a Co-Facilitator in the Partner Abuse Intervention Services program. She is passionate about working with perpetrators, as well as with victims. When working with perpetrators, she believes that challenging them whilst establishing and maintaining genuine rapport is essential. These two components are crucial to breaking down problematic patterns and behaviors and creating long-lasting change.
