Safe Passage provides compassionate, trauma-informed counseling services for victim-survivors of sexual violence ages 17 and older. Our program supports individuals impacted by a wide range of experiences, including sexual assault, acquaintance rape, childhood sexual abuse, sexual harassment, stalking, trafficking, prostitution, and exploitation through pornography.

Our counselors are dedicated to walking alongside survivors on their healing journey through an empowerment-based, client-directed approach. Using a variety of evidence-informed treatment modalities, counselors help individuals reduce post-traumatic stress symptoms, build coping skills, process traumatic experiences, and develop personalized safety plans.

Counselors also recognize that sexual violence affects not only survivors, but their loved ones as well. Safe Passage offers individual, family, and group counseling for those impacted by a survivor’s experience. These services provide psychoeducation on sexual violence trauma and its effects, including secondary trauma, while fostering understanding and support.

In addition to one-on-one counseling, we offer specialized support and processing groups tailored to meet the unique needs of survivors. These spaces offer a safe place for survivors to seek support and connection without fear or judgement.

To ensure accessibility, counseling services are available via telehealth, in-person, or by phone. All services are free and confidential. As a rape crisis center, Safe Passage upholds strict confidentiality protections under Illinois rape crisis privilege (735 ILCS 5/8-802.1).
