Residential Case Manager
Pay: $22.00/hr. plus $1.00-evening shift differential
3pm-11pm, Monday – Friday

Safe Passage is DeKalb County’s only Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Center. We provide a wide range of services to survivors and their loved ones including shelter, counseling, advocacy, and so much more. All survivor services are completely free, confidential, and available to all, no matter your age, gender, or when the abuse occurred. - Primary responsibilities of the Residential Case Manager are:
- Respond to domestic violence and sexual assault crisis calls.
- Respond to incoming calls to the agency, process, and distribute as needed.
- Assist individuals on a walk-in basis who are in crisis.
- Schedule counseling or other client appointments.
- Provide initial eligibility assessment and intake for new clients.
- Help clients and their children cope with the immediate effects of the decision to move to the shelter.
- Orients residents and their children to the shelter, its services, and client rights.
- Provide advocacy sessions to clients on a weekly basis or more often as needed.
- Provide transportation for clients as needed.
- Clean and organize work areas and shelter.
- Prepare bedding/toiletries for incoming clients.
- Participate in on-call by responding to domestic violence and sexual assault calls at the hospitals and police departments.
- Provide advocacy for clients with other agencies in the community.
- Provide referrals and resources to clients.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human services field from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Sexual Assault Counselor
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Mon-Fri – This position requires 2 evening shifts/week.

Safe Passage has an opening for a full time Sexual Assault Counselor. This position requires a master’s degree in human services area. Must have an understanding of sexual assault, domestic violence, trauma, and victim-centered services. Candidate will possess organizational abilities, good listening skills, and the ability to multi-task. Spanish speaking a plus.
The Sexual Assault Counselor will provide sexual assault counseling and crisis intervention services t victims of sexual assault and their significant others. This position will work some evening hours.
Primary responsibilities of the SA Counselor are:
- Provide individual and family counseling to victims and significant others.
- Facilitate and co-facilitate sexual assault support groups.
- Participate in on-call by responding to hospitals and police departments.
- Participate in case consultations regarding clients.
- Advocate for clients with other agencies in the community (e.g., DCFS, local mental healthcenters, etc.)
- Provide community referrals when necessary.
- Participate in the training of staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Participate in, prepare, and plan activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in human services field from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

It is a direct service client support position requiring the exercise of discretion and good judgment and is required to work a full-time work week, including evenings.
