Volunteers help Safe Passage thrive through their invaluable time and talents. Because of the vital role volunteers provide, Safe Passage is able to offer and maintain the quality and amount of services needed to help those affected by domestic and sexual violence. We thank you for your service!

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers are required to complete a 6 month commitment, providing 10 hours weekly on site and two 24-hour Medical On-Call shifts a month.

If you would like to be more involved in addressing the issue of domestic violence and sexual assault in DeKalb County, but are unable to commit to the requirements at Safe Passage, please consider becoming a Court Watch volunteer!

Internship Opportunities

Safe Passage’s comprehensive internship program is designed to cover vital aspects of a domestic violence and sexual assault agency including crisis intervention, survivor support, and medical advocacy. An intern will gain firsthand experience providing direct client service in a fast-paced nonprofit. This is an unpaid internship.

To become a Safe Passage Intern, you must:

  • Care about the welfare of domestic violence and sexual assault victims
  • Be able to complete a 2 semester commitment and provide 20 hours weekly on site
  • Fill out our application
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Training: The next training will be in January 2021.
