Volunteers help Safe Passage thrive through their invaluable time and talents. Because of the vital role volunteers provide, Safe Passage is able to offer and maintain the quality and amount of services needed to help those affected by domestic and sexual violence. We thank you for your service!

No matter how much time you have, there is a way to make a difference for survivors!

Direct Service Volunteer

Our Direct Service Volunteers have the opportunity to provide individual advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence as well as community education. These committed volunteers complete extensive training to ensure clients receive trauma-informed support.

  • Emergency Shelter Volunteer
  • Medical On-Call Advocate
  • Children’s Program Volunteer
  • Legal Advocate
  • Abuse Intervention Facilitator

Steps to Becoming a Direct Service Volunteer:

  • Care about the welfare of domestic violence and sexual assault victims
  • Fill out our application
  • Complete an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator and program director(s)
  • Pass a background check
  • Complete our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Training: The next trainings will be May 2024 & September 2024.

Mission Support Volunteer

Our Mission Support Volunteers provide invaluable support to the overall operation of our agency. These positions support survivors by keeping things running smoothly and creating a welcoming environment for clients. 

Mission Support Volunteer Positions:

  • Complete an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator

Please note, Direct Service Volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of 6 months of service.
Monthly time commitment varies by position.
