Mary Ellen has been the Executive Director of Safe Passage for over 6 years. She has an MSW from Loyola University, Chicago. Before coming to Safe Passage, Mary Ellen was the President/CEO of the Gillis Center, a large multi-service child welfare agency in Kansas City and the Executive Director of the DuPage Child Advocacy Center in Wheaton. She has spent her career serving children and adults of all genders who have been abused. Her passion is working to ensure that the organizations and systems intended to support survivors function with the highest quality of service possible.
